Dedicated on October 23, 1977, the African American Cultural Garden is one of 38 gardens within the Cleveland Cultural Garden Federation, each celebrating the rich heritage of diverse communities.
As part of the Cleveland Civil Rights Trail, the African American Cultural Garden represents the African American journey—past, present, and future. The story begins with a departure from Africa through the powerful “Doorway and Corridor of No Return,” built and dedicated on Juneteenth 2016.
