Painesville Railroad Museum is located in a vintage Lake Shore & Michigan Southern Railway Depot. This Depot was first opened in 1893. We are dedicated to the restoration of our Depot, the preserving of railroad history and the promotion of model railroading. We are home to the Collinwood "999" Engine and tender (built 1932). The 999 Engine is housed in a new Engine Barn. Also housed there is our 1865 horse-drawn trolley built by the East Cleveland Railroad Company. The museum is also home to a beautifully restored 1927 B&O Caboose car and a 1977 CSX Boxcar and many model train layouts.
