Visit the Perkins Stone Mansion, home of Akron & Summit County’s founding family, and John Brown House, home to Summit County’s most consequential resident abolitionist who sparked the American Civil War. Enjoy vintage clothing, artifacts, furniture and art. Sheep and working dogs are on the property spring to fall. Free Farm Friday programs for preschool-2nd grade students occur each Friday all summer. The Society also owns Old Stone School in partnership with Akron Public Schools. Attend annual programs - youth summit, Women’s History Project luncheon and John Brown Institute Fall Lecture.
